When Ivo Ivanovski received word that his country needed him, he was naked as the day he was born.

'Will you hold for the prime minister?' Ivanovski was asked when he answered the phone after stepping from the shower last fall at his Gahanna home.

The call was from Macedonia, the homeland Ivanovski had left as a high-school student in 1996 to finish his studies in Columbus.

'I have an uncle and aunt, Tom and Sally Petrovski,' Ivanovski said last week. 'They offered me their home."
